DIG Volleyball

Outdoor Volleyball is a popular sport in beach communities like San Diego. It makes sense. The weather is beautiful, you can play year round, and it takes only a handful of people to play.

I have been playing beach volleyball for over 20 years. I want kids to DIG it like I do. I want them to learn the game so that they can play it at a park or on the beach. DIG Volleyball is all about learning to love volleyball.

Build Skills

Although outdoor volleyball (both grass and beach) are different from indoor volleyball in many ways, most of the skills are the same. Students learn to call plays, pass the ball, set the ball, and my favorite, spike the ball! In other words, the skills learned in outdoor transfer to indoor.

Build Character

Beyond the game of volleyball, kids who play sports learn how to work as a team and communicate, they learn how to win and lose gracefully, and they learn how to set goals and work toward those goals.
